What curator Letizia Treves has achieved here is to reveal the talent that a young girl expressed and who continued to live her life as an artist in a world dominated by men.

What struck me was how it is her story that is more famous than her art. This is the first time Artemisia’s works been shown together in this way. Knowing that we could follow the other nations and lock down again, how I looked forward to this exhibition at the National Gallery and it did not disappoint in any way! It would be interesting to know the figures for people catching Covid-19 in our cultural venues, and I imagine it is negligible. In the months since they reopened, I have been in a number of galleries and have felt safe in each one. As I write this, England has gone into a four-week lockdown and all our galleries and museums have been hit again by the decision.
